LUXURY MEXICO HOLIDAYS

ABOUT THE ITINERARY

The streets, mansions and great religious buildings of Mexico鈥檚 major towns will give you a bold picture of the influence of Spanish settlers on this ancient country.

However, step into one of the classic archaeological sites at Oaxaca 鈥 Monte Alban or Mitla for example 鈥 and the 鈥楯ade City鈥 will introduce you to a much older civilisation.

At Palenque, there are ruins dating back to 100 BC and a cavern with a waterfall and subterranean swimming pool. At Merida and Chich茅n Itza there are Mayan palaces, temples, bizarre statues and strange deities – whilst Tulum combines ancient history with modern luxury and a sublime beach.

DAY 1-3

MEXICO CITY

Arrive in Mexico City, you鈥檒l then be driven to your luxury hotel in the trendy La Condesa District, nestled in a quiet side street in Mexico Park. You will have plenty of time to soak up the irresistible energy, rich culture, bustling bazaars and superb museums of this distinctly colonial city. And when you鈥檝e had your fill of the city, full day excursions will take you beyond its boundaries to find fascinating archaeological treasures like the Teotihuacan pyramids and the shrine of Guadalupe.

On the third day, you will be driven to San Angel, a picturesque neighbourhood with narrow cobbled streets and colourful houses. If you鈥檙e visiting on a Saturday you can browse the artisan market, before strolling through Coyoacan where you will find an array of historic buildings. Finish with a visit to Frida Kahlo鈥檚 Blue House.

But actually you鈥檒l be surrounded by living examples of the history that underlies Oaxaca, because the people here are direct descendants of the original Zapotec and Mixtec residents of the region. More evidence of the local traditions are to be found at the Saturday Indian Market where you鈥檒l be able to bargain for superb examples of Mexican hand-embroidered clothing, jewellery and black clay pottery.

Your guide will show you this ruined Mayan city that dates back to around 100 BC and today still features well preserved buildings, carefully conserved by anthropologists as well as local people. “A TRIP OF A LIFETIME, PERFECTLY PLANNED”
Dear Claire, our trip was 100% amazing. We fell in love with Chile. I love how we were introduced to all of the different parts of the country. Our family was engaged in all of the fun from beginning to end. The lodges were just perfection. I wouldn鈥檛 have changed a thing. I really appreciate all you did to make our trip a trip of a lifetime.

“IN SAFE HANDS, EVEN WHEN PLANS CHANGE”
Every detail of our Patagonia tour was expertly arranged 鈥 from transfers and flights to the choice of hotels. When our onward flight to the Falklands was delayed by two days, 好色先生TV stepped in immediately and secured a hotel for us. It was an enormous relief, especially as we don鈥檛 speak Spanish and had no idea what to do next. That level of thoughtful, responsive service stayed with us 鈥 it turned a potential travel hiccup into a lasting positive memory.
