VIEWS OVER THE MEKONG AND RAUK RIVERS

Immersed in 160 acres of tropical jungle with views over the winding Mekong and Rauk Rivers, it’s hard to believe you’re only an hour out of Chiang Rai. The views from the Anantara are spectacular, taking in the emerald valleys of the Golden Triangle and stretching into neighbouring Laos and Myanmar. The design is inspired by the historic Lanna Kingdom, with ample use of vaulted ceilings, polished teak flooring and hill tribe textiles. The rooms and suites have huge picture windows and balconies for taking in the gorgeous surroundings.

Home to its very own award-winning elephant camp, Anantara offers you an exclusive insight into the world of these gentle giants. You can join these rescued elephants and their mahouts on treks through the dense jungle, forests and hills of northern Thailand, and share in the pleasure as the whole herd goes down to the river to bathe. You can even spend a night in one of the resort’s ‘Jungle Bubbles’ for a completely immersive night under the stars with the elephants roaming the grounds around you. Otherwise, you’ll fill your days with visits to the restorative spa, cooking classes and relaxation time by the fabulous curved pool.

“EVERY TRIP EXCELLENT – AND MORE TO COME”
I’ve been on several small group holidays with ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV and every one has been outstanding. My most recent trip in February was no exception – expertly organised, responsive to questions, and full of memorable experiences. The itineraries are well thought out, the hotels top-notch, and the group sizes just right. Their tour leaders are knowledgeable, supportive and great company. I haven’t looked elsewhere since discovering Ultimate – and I’m already planning my next.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.

“TRIP TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD”
Everything about our trip was excellent. While it’s a considered investment, the service more than justifies the cost. We loved the accommodation – beautifully chosen and thoughtfully located. Our guides ranged from grear to truly exceptional. And the places we visited? They exceeded all expectations. Peru is an extraordinarily beautiful country, and this journey gave us a real sense of its wonder.
