SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION

EL RETABLO, PERU

El Retablo is a cute B&B, just a short walk from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco’s historic centre. It has been lovingly restored and mixes bright and simple rooms, with colourful Peruvian art and design.
EL RETABLO, CUSCO

FRIENDLY AND RELAXED ATMOSPHERE

The name El Retablo comes from a traditional Andean folk art, consisting of three-dimensional figurines in small boxes. You will see these figurines throughout the B&B – in fact there is a whole wall of retablos in the reception area!

There are just 17 rooms, which are split over two-storeys and surround a pretty courtyard. All the rooms are en-suite and have a clean and crisp design, but have been decorated using colourful Peruvian fabrics. Some of the rooms have views over the rooftops of Cusco and towards Ausangate mountain.

Breakfast includes fresh fruits, cereals, breads, cheese and cured meats and although there is no restaurant for lunch and dinner, you’re only a ten minute walk from the main plaza, where there is a variety of places to eat and drink.

There is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout and every day live music takes place in the courtyard accompanied by happy hour and a bonfire.

Note: The B&B is owned by Mountain Lodges of Peru, who operate the lodge-to-lodge Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu as well as the Sacred Valley and Lares Adventure.

“IN SAFE HANDS, EVEN WHEN PLANS CHANGE”
Every detail of our Patagonia tour was expertly arranged – from transfers and flights to the choice of hotels. When our onward flight to the Falklands was delayed by two days, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV stepped in immediately and secured a hotel for us. It was an enormous relief, especially as we don’t speak Spanish and had no idea what to do next. That level of thoughtful, responsive service stayed with us – it turned a potential travel hiccup into a lasting positive memory.

We were given very personalised recommendations based on what we hoped to experience during our holiday, and the suggested lodges were absolutely fabulous. All transfers ran like clockwork, with polite and friendly drivers. From the beautifully printed, detailed itinerary to the elegant document case, luggage tags, and the informative app, every detail contributed to a sense of luxurious, premium service.

“EXPERTLY TAILORED, EFFORTLESSLY ENJOYABLE”
We travelled to Indochina in January/February with an itinerary designed by ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV – and it was spot on. Rob, our consultant, really understood what we were looking for and created a journey that suited us perfectly. The choice of hotels was excellent, and the pace was just right, with enough time built in to relax and recharge between the different experiences. The service throughout was professional, personal and thoughtful – exactly what you want from a travel specialist.
