SUGGESTED ACCOMMODATION

EXPLORA UYUNI LODGE

Wake up to one of the most spectacular sights in all of South America.
EXPLORA UYUNI LODGE, BOLIVIA

Overlooking the largest Salt flat on earth

Where better to experience the extraordinary, endless expanse of the Uyuni Salt Flat than at Explora’s Uyuni Lodge. In a quiet location on the northern edge of the Salt Flats, away from the busier tourist route in the south, the lodge’s elevated position offers spectacular views of the Salar de Uyuni from every corner.

Designed by award-winning Chilean architect Max Núñez, the eight bedroom lodge strikes the perfect balance between comfort and simplicity. Each room has been carefully decorated to provide a warm and comfortable atmosphere and has been built using local woods and textiles with the added comfort of en suite bathrooms. The main lodge has a homely feel and guests are looked after by staff employed from the local community, part of Explora’s efforts to minimise their environmental impact but also support people in the area.

During your stay you will have your own driver, guide and 4×4 to take you on a variety of explorations. You can hike up the impressive slopes of Tunupa Volcano, visit some of the nearby communities and caves at San Pedro de Quemez or mountain bike out onto the vast expanse in front of the lodge (where Explora can setup a spot for lunch). End the day with a spectacular sundowner on the Salt Flats and marvel at the stunning night skies above.

“SERVICE THAT GOES THE EXTRA MILE”

The service we received from ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV was second to none. Tania took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and helped us explore every option clearly and thoroughly. Her first-hand knowledge of Kenya and safaris made a real difference – she explained everything brilliantly. The thoughtful extras, like the travel wallet and documents, were such a lovely touch – especially for someone who loves to travel well-organised! Thank you so much. We’ll definitely be back for future adventures.

“IN SAFE HANDS, EVEN WHEN PLANS CHANGE”
Every detail of our Patagonia tour was expertly arranged – from transfers and flights to the choice of hotels. When our onward flight to the Falklands was delayed by two days, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV stepped in immediately and secured a hotel for us. It was an enormous relief, especially as we don’t speak Spanish and had no idea what to do next. That level of thoughtful, responsive service stayed with us – it turned a potential travel hiccup into a lasting positive memory.

“THREE HOLIDAYS IN AND STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEDED”
Dan Mills organised perfectly a challenging itinerary to incorporate a wedding we were attending in Kathmandu. A fantastic balance of trekking, rafting, safari, sightseeing and R&R. This was our third holiday with Ultimate Travel and we cannot recommend highly enough
