FIVE GREEN STAR HOTEL

From its cocoon-like rooms to its glittering harbour views, The Hotel Britomart is arguably Auckland’s most stylish, eco-friendly stay.

The ferry terminal is just across the street, with regular services to the North Shore and Hauraki Gulf Islands.

Made from almost 80 per cent recycled construction materials, this is New Zealand’s first Five Green Star hotel. Every detail, from its bedding to its greenhouse-gas emissions, has been carefully examined for its eco-friendliness. The 99 rooms (and five luxury rooftop suites) are lined in responsibly sourced timber, and feel like serene retreats away from the buzz outside. Interiors are calm and contemporary, with built-in sofas and expansive views over Takutai Square or Waitemata Harbour. Meanwhile the restaurant, kingi, celebrates fresh, sustainably caught seafood.

“PROFESSIONAL, PERSONAL – AND A REAL PLEASURE”
From the moment we got in touch, everything felt smooth and well looked after. The team were not only professional and thorough – providing tailored suggestions with clear costings – but also genuinely friendly. Even after we returned, a follow-up email (and a bottle of wine!) showed just how thoughtful Ultimate Travel really is. Nothing was too much trouble. We already have more trips booked and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

“EVERY TRIP EXCELLENT – AND MORE TO COME”
I’ve been on several small group holidays with ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV and every one has been outstanding. My most recent trip in February was no exception – expertly organised, responsive to questions, and full of memorable experiences. The itineraries are well thought out, the hotels top-notch, and the group sizes just right. Their tour leaders are knowledgeable, supportive and great company. I haven’t looked elsewhere since discovering Ultimate – and I’m already planning my next.

“MONGOLIA STOLE MY HEART – A JOURNEY I’ll NEVER FORGET”
It was one of the best trips of my life. The itinerary you crafted for us was absolutely perfect; I wouldn’t have changed a thing. What made it even more special was the incredible team who looked after us. Edda was fantastic, and the two drivers we had for the Orkhon Valley and Gobi sections of the trip were possibly the best I’ve ever had.
