LUXURY FRENCH POLYNESIA HOLIDAYS

ABOUT THE ITINERARY

This itinerary moves through four of French Polynesia’s most distinct islands, balancing practical travel routes with standout stays.

Start in Tahiti, the international entry point and home to the island’s capital, Papeete. From there, travel by ferry to Moorea, where rainforest-covered peaks meet a shallow turquoise lagoon. It’s a compact island with plenty of impact, known for its scenery and ease of access.

Next, fly to Raiatea and transfer by boat to Tahaa. Slower and quieter, this island is known for its vanilla plantations, coral gardens and open reef views. The setting is remote, with a focus on space, calm and local food.

End the journey in Bora Bora, where the lagoon is protected by a ring of motus and the backdrop is defined by Mount Otemanu. It’s one of the most recognisable islands in the region, and still delivers on setting, service and natural beauty.

DAY 1

TAHITI

Begin your journey in Tahiti, staying at the Hilton Tahiti Hotel, a contemporary oceanfront property with expansive views over the island’s lagoon and the neighbouring island of Moorea. Positioned between the airport and the capital, Papeete, it offers both comfort and convenience, making it an ideal place to ease into island life.

The resort features Tahiti’s largest infinity pool, a selection of restaurants serving French and Polynesian cuisine, a spa, and open-air spaces designed to take full advantage of the coastal setting. If time allows, you can explore nearby Papeete with its markets, pearl boutiques and harbourfront promenade. For those seeking a change of pace, the island’s lush interior is home to waterfalls, rainforest and walking trails.

Stay: One night at Hilton Tahiti Hotel in a Grand Balcony Room, on a bed and breakfast basis.

MOOREA

Travel by ferry to Moorea, where forested peaks rise sharply behind a calm, reef-protected lagoon. Your base is the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa, set between Cook’s Bay and Opunohu Bay on the island’s north coast.

Accommodation is in a Premium Panoramic Overwater Bungalow, positioned at the end of the pontoon for uninterrupted views across the lagoon. Each bungalow includes a glass floor panel, direct water access, and a private deck for swimming or snorkelling straight from your room.

The resort offers an infinity pool, a spa, and a choice of dining options including an overwater creperie and a beachfront restaurant. Kayaks, paddleboards and snorkelling equipment are available, and the concierge can arrange guided outings ranging from reef excursions and sunset cruises to inland ATV tours and visits to local farms and distilleries.

RAIATEA

Fly to Raiatea, then continue by boat to the island of Tahaa, known for its vanilla plantations, coral gardens and quiet reef-lined motus. Your stay is at Hotel Vahine Island, a secluded property set on a private islet with wide views back across the lagoon.

You’ll stay in the Villa Suite at La Villa Royale, a spacious, standalone suite with natural finishes, open-plan interiors and a private beachfront setting. The suite includes access to a quiet stretch of sand, shaded terraces, a fitness room and an infinity pool set among coconut palms.

The stay is on a full-board basis, with meals prepared using local produce, seafood and French–Mediterranean techniques, served either at the beachfront restaurant or beneath the orchard canopy. You can snorkel straight from the shore through coral gardens frequented by rays and tropical fish, paddle a kayak through the lagoon, or take part in traditional crafts such as pareo tying or palm weaving.

Stay: Three nights at Hotel Vahine Island, Tahaa, in a Villa Suite at La Villa Royale, full board basis.

You’ll stay in a Lagoon View Overwater Bungalow Suite with Plunge Pool, designed with indoor-outdoor living in mind. Each suite features a spacious deck, private plunge pool, direct lagoon access, and panoramic views over the water.

The resort’s experiences are rooted in the setting. You can snorkel in the on-site Ruahatu Lagoon Sanctuary, home to over a hundred marine species, or explore the island by kayak, catamaran or paddleboard. “EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE FROM START TO FINISH”
Once again, Ultimate Travel organised a fabulous holiday for us. Their service is excellent from start to finish and their staff at the destination are the best. We have been so well looked after. They really understand what you are looking for and deliver the perfect holiday to match. I highly recommend Ultimate Travel for your next holiday!
Testimonial 4
“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.
Testimonial 6
“IN SAFE HANDS, EVEN WHEN PLANS CHANGE”
Every detail of our Patagonia tour was expertly arranged – from transfers and flights to the choice of hotels. When our onward flight to the Falklands was delayed by two days, ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV stepped in immediately and secured a hotel for us. It was an enormous relief, especially as we don’t speak Spanish and had no idea what to do next. That level of thoughtful, responsive service stayed with us – it turned a potential travel hiccup into a lasting positive memory.
